Bahrain takes center stage this weekend as it hosts the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2013, the fourth race of this year's Formula 1 season, which will put the kingdom in the global limelight.
First held on April 4, 2004, this event made history as the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East and was given the award for the "Best Organised Grand Prix" by the FIA. This mega event is this season's fourth round and will take Bahrain by storm on April 19-20-21.
The race will take place at the Bahrain International Circuit, the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East, situated at Sakhir in the south of the island, characterized by its large run-off areas. The kingdom's most prominent event stimulates the growth of tourism and puts Bahrain on the international map of prestigious events.
